about me

Melissa Bueno-Woerner is a Latinx Freelance Producer based ​in Brooklyn with over seven years of experience creating ​engaging and impactful non-fiction content for various ​platforms and audiences. She has worked on creating a wide ​range of content in the US and abroad, from ​documentaries/doc-series to short-form non-fiction content ​for streaming networks, cable, digital, and creative agencies. ​Her work has covered a range of topics, including immigrant ​rights, LGBTQ issues, climate activism, food justice, AI, and ​refugee rights.


Melissa holds a BA in International Studies from the University ​of Washington and has a passion for telling stories that ​amplify diverse voices and perspectives. She previously ​worked as the Program Coordinator at an NGO supporting ​LGBTQ refugees and asylum seekers in South Africa and as a ​Freelance Journalist covering Myanmar's military dictatorship. ​Melissa is actively seeking opportunities in the documentary, ​news, and the wider non-fiction media field, where she can ​apply her skills and expertise to produce compelling and ​meaningful content.
