Melissa Bueno-Woerner is a Latinx Freelance Producer based in Brooklyn with over seven years of experience creating engaging and impactful non-fiction content for various platforms and audiences. She has worked on creating a wide range of content in the US and abroad, from documentaries/doc-series to short-form non-fiction content for streaming networks, cable, digital, and creative agencies. Her work has covered a range of topics, including immigrant rights, LGBTQ issues, climate activism, food justice, AI, and refugee rights.
Melissa holds a BA in International Studies from the University of Washington and has a passion for telling stories that amplify diverse voices and perspectives. She previously worked as the Program Coordinator at an NGO supporting LGBTQ refugees and asylum seekers in South Africa and as a Freelance Journalist covering Myanmar's military dictatorship. Melissa is actively seeking opportunities in the documentary, news, and the wider non-fiction media field, where she can apply her skills and expertise to produce compelling and meaningful content.
